Jackie Paterson 5 Person Team

The Jackie Paterson Scottish 5 person team event will take place at Pettycur Bay holiday park over the weekend of 5/7th November.  There will be a few changes to this event.

All teams can only have five players, if a player pulls out before the event starts then you can replace them, but only five people in each caravan and NO going into other people’s caravans at any other time.

As in previous years only one superstar is allowed in each team and although a lot of leagues are not up and running, players can only play in a team from the same league.

Every player must have had their two Covid jags to be allowed to play.  No under 18’s will be allowed in the event.  All players must wear a mask when entering and leaving the building, players can only take them off when sitting down or when playing. (This may change before the event, if government guidelines alter.)

No spectators allowed, only the players in each team along with the officials will be in the venue, along with the staff of Pettycur bay.

Pettycur Bay has a fogging machine which will be used nightly.  Pool tables will be cleaned in-between group matches, the same for the pool balls.

The next major change is the caravans, Pettycur Bay as we all know have different standards of caravans and I’m changing the way the teams pay to enter this event to reflect this and be fairer to everyone.

Gold caravans £350
Silver caravans £300
Bronze caravans £250

This price includes the team entry fees as well. The caravans will be allocated on a first come first served basis for each category, based on receiving the full payment.

The Prize fund will be £4K based on 48 teams entering the event.
£2k winners , £1k runners up and semis £500.

Winners receive the trophy and medals and the runners up will get medals.

Two tables will have live streaming by Premier Event Streaming.

Davy will be providing the scoring tablets, but instead of having the full draw done for the group stages, we will go by the results and this way we hope to make the last group match relevant.

The event will be played on 8 brand new Blackball Elite tables with Hainsworth Green Match, as the tables are brand new the pockets will not be too tight for the players.

It will be a round robin with groups of 6 , with the top 4 teams getting into the last 32 knockout stages where the frames will increase.

A long first two nights to cram all this in starting at 6pm on the Friday night, but we will still finish around 6/7pm on the Sunday.

Players will adhere to the rules Pettycur Bay have in place at that time, anyone not doing so will be removed from the event and their team will be put out of the competition.

I will be doing a full report on this event to give to the SPA Exec in the hope that some kind of Super events will again start in 2022.

Having said all the above, this is August and things may change for the better or worst come November, if it’s for the better then some things I have posted here may change. However, if the event needs to be cancelled, all monies will be refunded.

To enter, payments should be made to M McInnes, sort code 04 00 04 Act 96938322 including the Team name in the reference section.
